I was trying to edit and ad on railswap.org today, and discovered that the image generator that they use to verify users is down. It says "reCAPTCHA IS SHUTDOWN". This is the case in both Chrome and IE. Does anyone know how long this has been going on, or been able to get in touch with them? The image generator has to work to be able to send a message to the owner.

Thanks for any information.

This site may help in your quest!
looks like a new version is required, this link should take you to the solution.

The Erie Lackawanna Railroad Historical Society's online membership application uses the same captcha and as a result also is inoperable.

Basically whoever the webmaster is has to go in and remove that part of the code to restore functionality. And if nobody knows who runs railswap or can contact that person, then it won't change until they stumble upon the issue.

BTW you can post your for sale items here on our RYPN Classifieds! No captcha!

Google retired V1 on March 31. It hasn't been supported for quite a while. Their webmaster should have been on that a long time ago.

Maybe they are full! They do not remove old ads. Want to see what was for sale in 2005? It's still listed!

Later!

The site still works. The issue is with editing and existing ad.
