Good evening everyone.

The Niagara Railway Museum Inc., located in the former CNR diesel shop in Fort Erie, Ontario, celebrated 20yrs in 2017, and finished off what was our biggest year yet. However, the first 4 months of 2018 have already been just as busy, and it's not stopping any time soon.

We have 2 major restoration projects on the go right now. 2017 saw the start of the cosmetic restoration of our 1920 ALCo 0-4-0st with a new front wood pilot beam, the first time she's had a coupler in over 30yrs. She also received new side running boards, and numbers/stripes on the cab sides. Work is continuing this year, as we work towards raising the funds to repair/replace the cab. And as of yesterday, 2 new timbers were cut for the rear pilot beam and will be picked up this weekend for installation shortly. Our locomotive, Hydro Electric Power Commission #46 is having this work done in time for her 100th birthday in 2020.

Also starting to get work is our 1935 ex-CN wood body flanger. This car was donated and moved to the Museum in December 2016. It was used as a conference room and is gutted inside with no plow blades. It is a useful space for meetings, and visiting displays. However, the exterior is in poor shape. The Museum has also started raising funds for this project, with cost of materials expected to be in the area of $1300. We have a local sawmill that is cutting and putting the tongue and groove in the boards for us. So they'll be ready to install when they arrive. Donations to both projects can be made online at: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charitie ... useum-inc/

Opening weekend for the NRM is also just a week away on May 12/13. More info on the Museum can be found at http://www.nfrm.ca or on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/niagararailway/
