Does anyone know where this European steam locomotive went? Or anything about it?
It was on display at the Traverse City Train Station (when it was a bank) back in 1992.

Greetings:
A meter gauge 2-6-0ST built in France from Puerto Rico. It was on display at the Henry Ford Museum until 8/1977 (auction?), sold to a bank in Traverse City and displayed, sold by them in 1994 to the St. Valery-Sur-Somme a tourist railway in France. They restored it to operation in 3/2003.
Be well,
J.David

Thanks for posting.

The bank would have been Michigan National which used railroad station type architecture for many of it's branches in the area.

The bank also had a railroad business car at the west end of the station which was used for meetings.

For a while, a dinner train operated out of this station, but if stopped running several years ago.

Among the railroad oriented displays was the unaltered office of the agent/operator with the bay window facing the tracks. It had a complete set of up to date paper and equipment on display and rather than manikins, two genuine C&O employees, the agent and a clerk/operator. They were there in 1976 when Michigan Northern began operating on connecting PC track. I don't recall when the office was closed.

Anyone recall Class I employees continuing to work in a depot which had been sold and staffed with non-railroad employees?

Regarding the meter gauge locomotive, a sign with its history described it as having been built for use in the construction of the Panama Canal as reported by Mr. Conrad's two volume book on surviving locomotives, but did not include that it was never delivered there.

Thank you all for the information. What became of the business car?
