It is with great sadness that we announce the last excursion using the popular California Zephyr private rail cars. These three classic passenger cars have been the backbone of our private car tours and charter train excursions for many years. The owners of these cars put the cars up for sale in mid 2017. Late last year a buyer began negotiations to purchase the cars. The present owners have said that negotiations continue but that it is expected the buyer will take delivery of the CZ cars shortly after this excursion. Once the purchase is complete these private cars will no longer be available for charter work on the West Coast and will be moved out of California and head east. At this time the name of the buyer is being kept under wraps until the deal is complete.
