News item in Trains NewsWire says CSX has some drawbridges that are 100 years old with old control systems. Anybody know of examples?

CSX has several such bridges spanning the Cuyahoga River in the Flats area of Cleveland. I am not sure how many are still in service, but those that are likely have old control mechanisms.

The only one off the top of my head that's still active is the bridge on the east end of Clark Avenue Yard (North end of the steel mill). It's very close to the Midwest Preservation Society/ B&O roundhouse. They use that bridge quite often to interchange with CROW and serve what I think is a chemical plant. They get quite a few tankers over there. They also have a vintage tanker, which I keep telling myself I'd get pictures of, on the property of said plant. My guess is it's used for storage.

I don't have construction dates, but here are two definite nominees in Maryland:

Also from Bridgehunter.com

Fun place to search old bridges. (and this country has a crapload of old rusty bridges) You can search selected fields such as CSX, riveted, movable, in use, and truss brought some results.

A photo of a drawing doesn't do the bridge justice.
