Who says RyPN is useless? I'd been wearing my Kromer for two springtimes and never knew the thing telescoped down. i couldn't figure out what these "earflaps" were people kept talking about. It still doesn't quite cover my ears, but that's what a stocking cap is for. Or Finnish hard hat, like Honest Nick once called it.

Try loosening the lace over the visor, the flaps may slide down a bit further with more slack.

Get the "Rancher" style cap. Much larger ear flap.

I've never heard of operator error with a Kromer hat before. :)

After a recent visit to the local western wear store to show it to an out-of-town guest, I noticed that a company named Wyoming Trader also makes winter Kromer-style caps.
