Do you know about when they were scrapped?

Google Earth History shows them there in the earth scan of April 2013 , both wreckers gone in the next earth scan of March 2015 . I was told by a couple of CN engineers that regularly go by the place that the two cranes were still there in 2017. When I checked it out, I realized the cranes they saw were two monitor cab locomotive cranes . To an untrained eye a " crane is a crane is a crane". The saleman there said both wreckers were long gone . Sorry ,I didn't ask the date they were cut . Just looking for axle sets at the time .

Mark,

You mentioned "Google Earth History", how dose one find that? If the cranes were gone in a 2015 scan why does the scan I get still show them? Doesn't Google Earth always show the latest view?

John,
Google Earth Pro, which is still available for download, has a time slider that in most cases can take you back to about 1994. Resolutions vary on the aerials. I don't think the current mobile version has that feature. At least I haven't found it yet.

I took a look at Railway & Industrial Services on Google Earth today. The current image shows the wreckers gone but five IBH monitor cab cranes still there. The only one I have information on is:

IBH #12340 1957 40 tons DE
Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & pacific #X-120

Thanks for the information. A builder's plate was to much to hope for.

Do you still want a photo of the builder's plate?

Yes, I would very much like to see a photo of the plate. Thank you.

I visited the crane yesterday, but I could not locate the builders plate.
Perhaps it was on the inaccessible side of the crane (there is heavy overgrowth around the crane).
I will try to visit this one again in the winter.

Has anyone come up with an ID for the Lansing crane?

FWIW, Railway & Industrial Services has closed. The property is for sale. It appears 3 of the Industrial Brownhoist cranes come with the property.
