The recent news about the fire in Roanoke brought back a memory about surviving Master Unit bodies from Roanoke, VA. Roanoke Railway & Electric 51 is in the collection at Seashore Trolley Museum. I have notes that #56 and another body may survive?

Thank you for providing clues to this old mystery.

Commonwealth/VMOT was offered a master unit on a local property by the owner, an older woman. I don't know what the car number was. For whatever reason, the museum did not retrieve the car immediately, and after a while the property was sold. The new land owner decided that he would rather keep the car body.
