A friend of mine talked to some one from the grain elevator at Mattoon, Illinois and was told the BN 6009 was scrapped on site. They now have a trackmobile.

This is the former BN 6008, still in BN paint. The number on the long hood and logo have been repainted on the green carbody.

Via the Trainorders.com thread linked below, it is reported that former Algiers Winslow & Western SD-9s 203 and 204 were scrapped.

These units were originally Central of Georgia 203 and 204. It is also reported that the 567C from one of these units has been purchased by the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society to use replace the 567B in their former Boston & Maine F7B.

From AOTT facebook, Richard Jahn video and photo (he is the person retrieving the engine to be installed in a "DL&W" painted F7-B):

Great Northern SD-9 599, discussed in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43868&p=297888&hilit=great+northern+SD#p297888

is apparently still sitting on a BNSF siding in Skykomish, WA waiting for the funds to be raised to move it (the gofundme page has raised $8K of the $40K they were asking for, though no one can figure out why they need so much to move it a few blocks).

Although technically not preserved yet, former Central of Georgia SD9 202 is still in existence. The unit, now classified as an SD9m, is a part of the Black River Railroad System’s lease fleet as BDRV 9581, currently on lease in Newport News, VA.

Back around 2010, during a brief visit to home rails in New Jersey, it was operated on Delaware River Railroad excursions out of Phillipsburg, substituting for THSX 2-8-2 142.

Good to hear about the unit on the Bel-Del!

The Trainorders thread also notes that former CofG SD9 207 is owned by JD Heiskell and Company and is in service in Pixley, CA: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/LocoPi ... ?id=238105

This locomotive is missing its original class lights that were present on the CofG units being scrapped.

CofG SD7 197 is owned Ed Bowers, last reported as being stored in Oak Ridge, TN: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/LocoPi ... ?id=238011

Ex Montana Rail Link, SD9,#612, is still operating at a mill in Lexington, Nebraska. Saw this locomotive a few months ago. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPi ... ?id=168984

Another SD9, now classified as an SD9m, can be found on the roster of the Winchester & Western Railroad, currently operating freight over former CNJ and PRSL lines that now make up their New Jersey Division. This unit, now WW 954, was constructed in 1957 as Nickel Plate 352. It was part of the same order as NKP 349, currently on display at the Mad River and NKP Railroad Museum in Bellevue, OH as N&W 2349.

FWRHS SD9 was coming along strong until CV19 stopped the work. The effort was on track to have the locomotive running and painted yet in 2020. I will defer to those doing the work for further updates.

Three ex-MILW units are in Chamberlain, SD on Dakota Southern Railway.
SD7 512 originally MILW 2212. A SD7L according to its bedsheet electrical diagram. 25T/axle.
SD7 522 originally MILW 2222. One of five MILW SD7s with dynamic brakes.
SD9 506 originally MILW 2232. Another lightweight for 60# branchlines, 25T/axle

The 500 series numbers were the units' final MILW numbers.
All three retain their original short hoods. Mostly inactive, replaced with newer power.

One SD7 that I haven't seen on the list yet that is still with us is former Bessemer and Lake Erie #454 which is now Hartwell Railroad #454.

This site has several recent photos of B&LE 454:

http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/serialThumbs.aspx?mfg=EMD&id=17907&Page=2

From my review of the B&LE roster at: https://blearchive.weebly.com/past-and-present-diesel-engines.html, this is the earliest surviving B&LE hood unit. It is also the only surviving SD7 or SD9 to have worked in Western Pennsylvania. The PRR's SD7's and SD9's are gone (with the exception of the one rebuilt for service in Madison, IN - rebuilt in the late 1990s). The B&O's SD7s and SD9s are also now gone - I'd be happy to be corrected on this point.
