I can only think of some kind of forced air oil furnace run on batteries/wheel generators. or electric heater. Modern cabooses went that way (electric)

Gotta have the coal burner in there for effect, working or non-used/used for specific times...

The simplest solution is the traditional fuel oil fired caboose stove. The railroads already figured it out, no need to reinvent the wheel. Designed to last, and to stay burning regardless of the lurches and jerks of rolling down the track.

If anyone knows where to find one please let me know.

I just picked one up today, and no you can't have it! It is going to heat "our" 58's enginehouse.

If you are near a boat yard or other marine related place, small boats often have diesel or kerosene cabin heaters.

One item to consider with a wooden caboose is how an overheated stove drys the surrounding wood. The interior and roof of a wooden caboose we are restoring was dried to nearly weightless, with no structural strength.
