Zenon Hansen wrote a piece on New Haven's Comet for Passenger Train Journal in 1989. I wrote the author an inquired about some oddities I noticed in the publicity photos. He wrote back, and I kept his letter.

I am now cleaning out stuff, and I scan his letter and present it to you as a way to preserve it for posterity.

Neat!

I wrote Ron Ziel several years ago, telling him how much I loved his book, "Twilight of Steam locomotives," how I checked it out of the library as often as I could and how I bought the first copy I saw at a railroad collectible show as a teen (which I still have). Ziel wrote me back later, a typed letter (with a few manual corrections), thanking me for my original letter.
