Excellent work guys. Making what we do mainstream is something very few groups can do.
I hope a Coke truck full of sponsorship money shows up.

Kelly - I know that it was a lot of work, but it really came out well. I was VERY impressed with the work that your organization has done over the years. This ad is very moving and brought back a lot of memories to me!! Keep up the good work, we need more young people to get interested in railroad preservation!!!

Very nice... but didn't the conductor's mother every tell him to CLOSE THE REFRIGERATOR DOOR?

Dennis -

If I see Joe at Hoosier Valley this coming Saturday, I'll remind him.

As I stand by my parent's side while my Father goes through this ugly thing we call cancer, my mind has gracefully gone through all it's memories of my childhood. Many, many of those memories, as you can imagine, involve trains.
This video hit real close to home and I sincerely thank you and your organization for taking me to a place I haven't been in a while. From those Lionel O-27 trains in the bedroom to taking my Father for a spin behind my locomotive.
Your time and efforts are appreciated.

Wonderful, wonderful "ad!" There have been comments on YouTube about how this flick brought out all kinds of emotions from viewers, including those who are not rail enthusiasts--and from the ones who are, about how it reminded them of what makes trains and railroading so special.

I hope Coke picks it up for the Superbowl, and I hope it would be an ad that would make other agencies ask, "Good grief, how do we top this?"

Of course, I could be full of hooey--environmentalists might complain about the smoke, for instance--but it still looks like a winner to me. Just loved it--even though it reminds me, once again, that I live in the wrong time, and worse, have had three people tell me so!

And I haven't mentioned the young girl who said I lived in the right time--and also said I reminded her of her grandfather! And I'm only slightly older than her dad!

I don't drink Coke, but now I want to buy it by the case!

Seriously excellent, excellent work.

I love the way a brand is being created before our very eyes.

Nice work. It is great to see people with creative talent involved with our little movement.

May I ask how many hours went into this? Also, how much do you think it would cost to produce an ad like this for a paying client? I hope this leads to good things for both 765 and your career as a film maker.

Phenomenal job! This really touched me. In my humble opinion, there isn't a commercial that airs now that can hold a torch to this. This stirs emotions that generally aren't stirred by commercials.

I completely agree with "J3a-614". I think this would be an amazing thing for Coke to use during the Superbowl. I'm certain that no one else would use something like this, which would definitely make it memorable.

Nicely done and a LOT more effective than the Coca-Cola commercials I've recently seen in the movie theatre.

Sure hope it leads to a well deserved contract for you from Coke.

I'm with Mr. Rowland on this one. I really hope this leads to great things for the FWRHS.

Mr. Kelly Lynch - I extend my congratulations to you, the FWRHS, and everyone else that helped make that video/movie possible. This is something you just don't see anymore, but it still has the power to move us. Job well done!

Not sure about hours. Post production always takes longer. We shot the majority of this piece between 8PM and 5:30AM (all of the North Judson sequences.) We'd planned a second day of shooting the following night but our lead actress (the station agent you see briefly) wasn't available. The entire script is a little longer (we originally followed a number of the townspeople you see appear at the station) but we decided to adjust it.

I'd say 2-3 weeks worth time total. Imagining you paid everyone day rates, paid for the train, location, props, etc...there's a reason commercials cost up to a million or more. We were very fortunate to have Hoosier Valley, the FWRHS members/board, and the actors/actresses and my own crew donate their time to make this.

Beautiful work, Kelly. Almost felt a tear welling up.

Hopefully this will lead to some very successful sponsorship agreements!
