www.modelrailroadforums.com is a pretty nice all-around forum for model railroading.

tycoforums.com has a few younger members. This forum focuses on the collecting of vintage trains, even the cheap Tyco stuff. Not much in the way of rivet counters there (which is healthy for the younger modelers).

A number of young toy train collectors and model railroaders share their collections and layouts on Youtube via "Layout Update" videos. I enjoy watching these for all types of trains, from detailed scale layouts, to some-what scenicked layouts for toy trains.
