Just a note that has been for sale on eBay for well over 8 months.

I have no idea on the maker so best of luck.

If I were doing the naming of the thing, she'd be someone who lived right off base and who provided a service similar to the speeder.

Ed, If I had the skills, I'd attach a .wav file of a rim shot.

Bada boom, shish!

I think his price is rather high given there is no drivetrain. Otherwise, I'm in love. LOL

No drivetrain and no wheels! I agree the price is too high.

It would be the belle of the NARCOA ball otherwise.

Looking for Mary Tompkins of Hastings, Nebraska, I found this link to a history of the Naval Ammunition Depot on the Adams County Nebraska Historical Society's web site:

http://www.adamshistory.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=42

The article mentions a LaVerne L. Tompkins, killed with seven others on April 6, 1944, by an explosion in the mine and bomb loading area. Maybe Mary was related to LaVerne.
