Yeah, that's from a photo shoot he did in Nashville, using Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway No. 576 in the park there. The most commonly seen shot from this photo shoot used the other side:

Relevancy in the Interchange? Better suited for Railfanning?

If a strategy could be devised to identify a current person or group that could bring steam-era railroading into popular culture through their art as Mr. Cash is shown doing here almost fifty years ago, it would be very good for preservation.

To get it back to preservation, how IS the restoration of # 576 coming?

Promontory: V&T no. 11 Reno and no. 12 Genoa were used at Promontory for the Pacific railroad centennial celebration in 1969. No. 11 was soon thereafter needed for movie work, not sure were 12 went at the time (it was owned by R&LHS). When those locomotives left, NPS borrowed V&T no. 18 Dayton and no. 22 Inyo from Paramount. They had been used as the Jupiter and 119 in 1969 on the UPRR special centennial train that toured their system (the same roles they had played in the movie Union Pacific). Those locomotives remained at Promontory until late 70s, when they went to Carson City for restoration at NSRM. 18 and 22 were used for the Cash program while at Promontory. No. 11 is at Old Tucson, 12 is at CSRM, while 18 and 22 are side by side at NSRM, Carson City. From about 2004 until a week ago (or has it been two weeks?), 18 was in Virginia City, but it was returned to Carson City in exchange for V&T no. 27, which is now in Virginia City. No, the move was not made on rails. The restored V&T does not extend as far as the Comstock History Center in Virginia City or to NSRM in Carson City, so they were trucked. Of the five V&T locomotives mentioned, only no. 22 is operational--and at a reduced boiler pressure.
