Actually they call it a "dinning cart." Regardless, I think I would push for terms other than having it removed from the property by 4:00 three days later. Perhaps an auction is a good way to get clear title, fast, if the owners have been not cooperative in other attempts to get equipment off the property.

A scrap dealer bought it for $5000. Not clear if the county is going to accept the bid:

“We were hoping of course that we would be able to sell it to a collector, but obviously that didn’t happen,"

If you're hoping for someone who wants to save it to come around, but are asking for payment, you're almost never going to find someone. If they want it saved, they should donate it.

Merriam-Webster Online says this:

LIP SERVICE: an avowal of advocacy, adherence, or allegiance expressed in words but not backed by deeds.

Sounds like it applies here.

"We were hoping somebody with far more money than sense would swoop in, give us a lot of money for our county coffers, and then swoop in and pay for a trailer and cranes to come in and take the car away for us the next day so we could continue to liquidate the property, but obviously that didn't happen."

Fixed that for ya.

Its coming up on a year since the last update -- did the ACL tavern-lounge go on to railroad car heaven? What about the building and the rest of the equipment?

ACL car went to scrap, everything else is status quo, except for the effects of vandals and weather.

Thanks Mike! It's a shame they cut it as I find myself in need of some parts from a car like that.

Just answered my own question. Found the info in one of the other threads concerning the equipment in Wilkes-Barre: http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=20980

Here's the specific quote:
