With respect to the ACL car, how does the information below connect to the situation "on the ground"? today?

After watching the abortion of the grant at our station first hand, I would guess that the 1 million will get you a general cleaning, washed windows and maybe a coat of paint. The original bid will come in at half a mill but with contractor changes that will be approved by who knows who, the extras will eat up the remaining half mill. But don't complain to the government, because they just don't care.

A photo of the two wood cars at the station. I hope these get saved by someone who cares and can make a good historic application with them. To my eyes they are in great shape exterior wise.

Calling Strasburg Railroad!

Didn't realize there were TWO cars there, particularly a coach and Combine (looks like it could be a home job though?).

SRR would be the best place for them to survive, but I know they are back-logged on equipment restorations as is.

The acquisition of two more closed vestibule cars would give them a 5 car set for winter time service. (they have the 2 RDG Coaches and the WM wood Car)...and again, a combine to boot, if it in fact is one.

One can only hope they don't get trashed.

I don't see them getting much money out of any of them, considering their current state (except the ACL car, that might raise a bit). If anyone would even want to just cosmetically restore them, they'd have to get them at rockbottom price to ever make it worth it.

From what I remember of the '70s, I don't think I ever did a Latter Day Saint.......but anything is possible.

I think it's more a Shatner /Canadian thing. Ears normal, just getting hairier at my stage of life.......although I do encourage rational thought.

Some people might want to make it another restaurant, or someone might use it as an addition to a hotel."

Don't get too excited abouit these items. I have dealt with previous items on the property. There is (suprise!) politics involved with this property especially being in Luzerne county. WARNING! People have been dooped here before. I won't say much more than that.
