Forgive me if this topic has been posted before, I did look and did not find anything. Im going to just get to the question; are there any surviving C&O Hy-rail trucks left with their hy-rail gear on? It doesnt matter if its restored or not. Thanks!

The gear is expendable. Anything of that era will be Fairmont 0307, and it came in 2 flavors: with or without gears. The cosmetic differences are quite minimal. You want gears. Heck, you want EZ-Lift, even though that modification was post-C&O. EZ-Lift saves you hernias by converting the final heavy-lift motion from up to down.

The unobtanium is the highway wheels and the steering lock kit, and any peculiar decking that it might have had over the gear.
