Does the URHS publish its schedule for the Hickory Creek? I heard that the car recently passed through town on the CZ, and I would have looked for it had I known it was on the train. They do link to a company called Star Trak, who for several years has listed on their site that no trips are scheduled with it.

Given the large amount of $$$ spent on this car I would like to see it some time.

Chris.

There are plenty of folks that call it downright scandalous that huge gobs of money, some of it even public, were spent by New Jersey folks on the restoration of a car that had no ties to New Jersey and is, by and large, used as a "private yacht" by its administrators.

The URHS was more or less a funnel to get their hands on $700,000 or so of taxpayers money. They have little (or no) involvement with the car today. It is on essentially permanent loan to these people:

So if you want to go watch it or ride it out there, enjoy. For those involved in preservation in N.J. all you can do is think of the rotting equipment that will eventually be given away or scrapped (they already have a list of basket cases free for the taking) and what that $700,000 could have meant to even a few of these NJ gems instead of this "cornerstone of the New Jersey Transportation Museum" - HA!

"the only Amtrak Certified Pullman car"

Umm, Dover Harbor isn't a Pullman?
