Just bumping the thread to see if anybody has pictures of the progress, if any, on the cosmetic restoration that was started in the spring.

Thank you sir. She looks a lot better than what she did. I'm curious if any metal work was done to patch up some rust holes. I know the videos on YouTube showed a lot of damage caused my Mother Nature over the years. But like I said, a lot better looking.

The link isn't working for some reason. Type in "C&O 701 Covington shelter" and it'll be the first item that pops up in a search.

WOW ! It looks GREAT ! A town that came together, did a fantastic job, and didn't spent tons of money.
If I could point out one small detail that got missed, the cylinders need a sheet metal covering, but I am very pleased with what they have done !

All park locomotives should be so lucky! I need to point out again, the fantastic cosmetic restoration on Kanawha 2700 during 2017. Two C&O locomotive got some extremely necessary attention before it was absolutely too late.

Before and after images of these, plus a potential budget for doing similar, should be part of any start-up group going before a city council.

Perhaps the C&OHS could help them get the correct style of number font for the lighted number boards. I see too, it might need some clear lenses for the classification lamps. If they are interested I would be willing to help donate towards them.
